1. The One-Minute TIP

I believe the "good life" is about balance. Rest and play,
and family and friends are important, and vacations help us
renew our spirits. One of the best things I do is to read
every day, but in the end, actually getting stuff DONE is
essential! Work allows us to make a difference, to achieve
success, and leave a legacy. Whatever it takes, get more
stuff DONE!

2. Welcome Notes

The thing that impressed me most on my walk this morning
was the number of birds singing! For those of us in North
America, spring is definitely coming, although I see that
the Northeast got another spring blizzard this week. (I hope
it melts quickly!) Our daffodils are up and the cherry
trees are in full bloom, but the birds are particularly
impressive. The robins actually make it noisy! What a treat!

And, I want to put in a special plug for someone who made
my life much richer this week. My friend and TIPS reader,
Wolfgang Buchler from the Heidelberg Pastry Shop in
Virginia sent us some of the world's BEST chocolates!
Please visit his website or stop by his shop if you are
in the Arlington area. The pastries and chocolate are
"to die for!"    http://www.heidelbergbakery.com

Finally, I want to invite you to join us in Wisconsin for
the "World-Class Life(tm) Conference" in May. I continue
to be delighted by the number of last year's participants
who are returning! For me, that is the ultimate
endorsement! Lots of workshops get high marks on
evaluation forms right afterward, but how many Conferences
are so good that you would pay to go back and do it AGAIN,
a year later? This is my favorite project of the year, and
one of the absolute BEST, richest and most powerful things
I have ever done. I hope you'll join us.
http://philiphumbert.com/wcl.htm

And, if you are ready to make this your "best year ever"
and want to achieve more, be more effective and get more
done, join my coaching group starting on April 5th. This
is one of the most cost-effective ways to clarify your
goals and boost your productivity. The group will fill
soon, so take action!

3:  How Peak Performers Get More Done!

In the long run, performance counts. In fact, only the
things we actually DO really matter. The things we DO are
how our lives are measured.

Generally speaking, our intentions do not count. The road
to failure is "paved with good intentions." Even our
values do not matter until and unless they are ACTED upon.

In the end, only performance counts.

Genius and education do not count - we all know bright,
highly educated people who have made a mess of things. Our
plans and hopes do not count, and even our faith counts for
very little in this world. I recall a critical comment
about a well-intentioned but ineffective friend who was
described as "so heavenly minded she's no earthly good."

The key to success is knowing where to focus and how to
get extraordinary RESULTS from our ordinary daily efforts.

Yes, of course I believe in genius and luck and good fortune,
but the winners in life have all worked very hard. Whatever
genius Einstein and Edison and Dickinson and Madam Currie
brought to the game of life, they also WORKED very hard!

The key to unusual success is knowing WHAT to work on,
knowing WHERE your talents give you the opportunity to
make a HUGE difference. The key is not just working
hard - everyone does that. Nor is the key found in ambition
or desire - everyone has that.

The key is leverage, focus, patience, perseverance and
persistence PLUS an element of genius (we all have that,
as well) and effort. Archimedes said that with sufficient
leverage he "could move the world", and through his ideas,
he did! There is no force on earth "as powerful as an
idea whose time has come" and fortunately, we ALL have
powerful ideas!

Here are some practical suggestions to quickly maximize
your results:

1. Clarity of purpose. Whatever it takes, know your
values and your priorities. Read. Keep a journal. Get
organized and stay organized. Life is short - know where
you are going and what you want to accomplish!

2. Eliminate the trivial. We are all tempted to do a
thousand minor tasks every day. Peak performers just say
no. They pay whatever it costs to delegate or avoid
distractions.

3. Learn from experts. Invest in education and get a
mentor and do what successful people do. As Tony Robbins
says, "Success leaves clues," and if you do what successful
people do, you will get similar results.

4. Stay the course. Persistence and patience pay off. We
all know the saying, "If at first you don't succeed, try,
try again," but the winners in life modify that. They say,
"If at first you don't succeed, try, try UNTIL!"

5. Hard, hard work. Every time I recommend hard work, I
get emails from people who claim that success "should be
effortless," and that when we do what we love, "we'll never
work another day in our lives." But Edison slept in his
laboratory and Betty Friedan was famous for her 18-hour
days.

Whatever it takes, get more
stuff DONE!

If you would like to get more DONE and make this your BEST
year ever, join us for the World-Class Life(tm) Conference
in May. It could be one of the most relaxing and most
powerful things you ever do! Identify your TOP priorities
and GET THEM DONE! It is not enough to merely work hard.
The key is to be more EFFECTIVE, get more DONE, stay
BALANCED and have FUN doing it!

4. Quotes of the Week

"Two little words that can make the difference: START NOW."
                                      -- Mary C. Crowley

"Achievement seems to be connected with action. Successful
men and women keep moving. They make mistakes, but they
don't quit."
                                      -- Conrad Hilton

"The problem in my life and other people's lives is not the
absence of knowing what to do, but the absence of doing it."
                                      -- Peter Drucker

"Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of
things which matter least."
                                      -- Goethe

5. Strictly Business:   What Gets Measured, Gets Done

This powerful little quote from Edward Deming sums up one
of the most important distinctions between high achievers
and the also-rans in life.

Far too many of us dream big dreams and work hard every
day, without taking time to see if we are making any
progress! Think about that! Logically, if you are
building a business, saving for retirement, trying to lose
weight or achieve any other goal in life, you NEED to know
if what you're doing is working!

Of course you do! And yet, many professionals and business
owners forget this key step. They "try" an advertising
campaign or "try" a new sales person. They "try" changing
their hours or raising (or lowering) their prices, but
without adequate records and good testing, they don't
really KNOW what works and what doesn't. As a result, too
often they keep on working hard, but are spinning their
wheels, wasting time and going nowhere.

The key to making progress is to get very, very good at
measuring what works (so you can do more of it) and
measuring what does not work (so you can stop it!).
Successful people track daily performance. They use charts
and graphs to visualize their results. They compare
results from one year to the next, and measure their
productivity with that of their colleagues (and
competitors).

Here's something that can help. Beginning April 5th I will
lead a coaching TEAM and together we will set and achieve
goals, complete projects, and get stuff done! "What gets
measured, gets done", and a group of colleagues who
encourage you, who hold you accountable for performance,
and who cheer your successes is incredibly powerful. I
hope you'll join us!

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!

#1 Affordable, Practical, Powerful "TEAM" Support
         Coaching Group Begins April 5th

         http://philiphumbert.com/cgi.htm

Ideas, encouragement and support are the keys to high
performance. As the poet observed, no one does their best
"as an island". We do our best when friends EXPECT the
best from us. We do our best when we have great ideas,
effective solutions, great strategies, and a clear PATH to
success, and the CGI-TEAM can provide that.

Too many entrepreneurs, professionals and home-based
business owners try to do it on their own, by themselves,
and it just is NOT very efficient. We need accountability.
We need fun! We need ideas, goals, and coaching to be our
best, and the CGI-TEAM is one of the most cost-effective
ways to get the benefits of both a great coach AND a TEAM
of colleagues to help you. There is no competition, only
encouragement, friendship and great strategies. Wouldn't
you like to be more effective this spring? Join us!

    #2 The World-Class Life(tm) Conference, May 20-22nd
Effective Tips, Tools, Techniques & Strategies to
ACHIEVE Your Goals and Live the Life You Love

         http://philiphumbert.com/wcl.htm

What would your life be like if it were perfect in every
detail? Imagine your life flowing seamlessly between work
and play, moving from goal to goal and achieving your
highest and best aspirations. How would that feel? It's
not just making more money, but doing your work with
passion and joy, having time for yourself and your loved
ones, and getting more DONE! Is that possible?

Yes! Everyday millions of people live with peace of mind,
energy, enthusiasm and joy, and you can, too! It's about
living the life you truly want. It's about having your
daily actions match your values and living a life built
around your talents, strengths and passions. It's not
necessarily "easy" - what is? - but it is "simple" and
easily possible. This Conference is designed to give you
the tools, techniques, the TIME and the support to create
the life you truly want. Over HALF the spots sold out in
only two weeks (!) and we have space for only 13 more
people! This invitation is going to over 40,000 people, so
if this sounds attractive, I hope you'll take ACTION and
join us today! Get info and register at:
http://philiphumbert.com/wcl.htm

    #3 Got a Website?
Let Your Website Work FOR You!
Passive Income is a VERY Good Thing!

Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping carts,
autoresponders and systems that were supposed to help me
serve my subscribers and make money from my website. None
of them worked, or more accurately they worked, but they
were complex, confusing and didn't work very well. Then I
discovered Don Schnure and the amazing programs he's put
together. They work! They are powerful, EASY to use, and
they let me automate my newsletter, my affiliate programs
and my shopping cart, with no hassle! I love this! And,
you can use it with no obligation for 30 days, so check it
out. Highly recommended!
http://philiphumbert.com/go/1A.htm

I really am a "raving fan" of Don's work. It works for me,
saves me time and effort, and most importantly, I
absolutely TRUST the system because it never lets me down.
If you have a website and would like to do a better job of
contacting your clients, staying in touch with customers,
or would like to sell your products and services, I urge
you to at least take the free tour.

7. Humor:    Kids and Bible-Story Humor

Ok, so lists of funny answers to Bible questions have been
around a long time, and in most cases I seriously doubt
that little children actually wrote them, but whoever did
these, did a GREAT job! My friend, Paul Vogt, sent this
collection and they are not intended to be sacrilegious or
offensive, just fun. I hope you find them as cute as I did.

Pay special attention to the wording and spelling. If you
know the Bible, even a little, you'll find this hilarious!

a. In the first book of the bible, Guinessis, God got
tired of creating the world so he took the sabbath off.

b. Adam and Eve were created from an Apple tree. Noah's
wife was called Joan of Ark. Noah built an ark and the
animals came on in pears.

ball of fire during the night.

g. Moses led the Jews to the Red sea where they made
unleavened bread which is bread without any ingredients.

h. The Egyptians were all drowned in the dessert,
afterwards, Moses went up to Mount Cyanide to get the ten
ammendments.

i. The first commandment was when Eve told Adam to eat the
apple.

j. The seventh Commandment is thou shalt not admit adultery.

k. Moses died before he ever reached Canada. Then Joshua
led the Hebrews in the battle of Geritol.

l. The greatest miricle in the bible is when Joshua told
his son to stand still and he obeyed him.

m. David was a Hebrew king who was skilled at playing the liar.

n. Solomon, one of David's sons, had 300 wives and 700
porcupines.

o. When Mary heard she was the mother of Jesus, she sang
the Magna Carta.

p. When the three wise guys from the east side arrived,
they found Jesus in the manager.

q. Jesus was born because Mary had an immaculate contraption.

r. St. John the blacksmith dumped water on his head.

s. Jesus enunciated the Golden Rule, which says to do unto
others before they do one to you. He also explained, a man
doth not live by sweat alone.

t. The people who followed the Lord were called the 12
decibels.

u. The epistels were the wives of the apostals.

v. One of the oppossums was St. Matthew who was also a
taxi-man.

w. St. Paul cavorted to Christianity, he preached holy
acrimony, which is another name for marraige.

x. Christians have only one spouse. This is called
monotony.
