1. The One-Minute TIP
My sense is that there are dozens, perhaps thousands of wonderful
quotes, tools, techniques and systems around us, and the more “tools” we
have in our “toolbox,” the more likely we’ll have the right tool at the
right time to get the results we need. I used to think that if I could
just read the right book, or attend the “best” seminar, I’d “get it” and
life would be good. I finally realized that I need to read as much as I
can and talk to all the experts I can find, because they all have tools
that I’ll need sooner or later.

2. Welcome Notes
It’s been a marvelous early-autumn here in Oregon. The leaves on the Oak
trees below our deck are starting to turn, and the other morning a
beautiful big-leaf Maple up the hill turned a brilliant orange and
yellow over-night. At night, the stars even shine brighter! What a
wonderful time of year! Next Friday, Mary and I are going to the
Cascades to get our annual “fix” of the Aspens turning yellow and
shimmering in the breeze.
I hope wherever you are, you take time to enjoy Nature in all her glory.
On another topic, I continue to marvel at the response to my newest
ebook, “The New MasterMind.” Sales have exceeded my expectations (of
course that’s nice!), but what really excites me are the amazing emails
from people saying they’ve started a MasterMind group, or have seen
their team re-vitalized. That’s incredibly exciting! If you still
haven’t gotten your copy, I urge you to do so. Visit the site and take
action! Get your MasterMind in gear, and do it today.

And finally, school has started and year is drawing to a close. If
you’ve been thinking about coaching, this is the perfect time! I have
two openings for new clients and would love to talk with you. Drop me an
email, let’s talk about the possibilities and GET GOING! If you know you
should be achieving more and better results, get a coach! Email me:

3: The 3-C’s of Superior Achievement
One of the essential habits for achieving superior results is the
“constant and never-ending” search for methods, systems, and tools to
get the most from life.
Many people think that if they could find “the answer” their lives would
miraculously improve. They act as if life has a mysterious secret
“system” and if they found it, everything would work out. I don’t think
it works quite that way.
In that spirit, I want to share one of my most powerful “systems” for
success. For a few of you, it may be the one essential missing piece.
For most, however, it will be another tool, another step in the process
of moving from where you are to where you want to be in life.
I’ve observed that the most successful people I coach use “The 3-C’s” to
climb the ladder of success and achieve their most important goals.
1. Unusual Clarity. My friend, Michael Angier, does a
presentation entitled, “Clarity is Power,” because knowing exactly what
we want is absolutely critical to getting it. Most people are vague
about their goals and aspirations. They want “more,” but hesitate to
identify exactly what they want “more” of! Tony Robbins tells a story
about someone who came up to him and said he wanted “more money.” Tony
says, “So I gave him a dollar and told him to go away!” What do you
want? When? How much of it? How will you measure it?
High achievers are extremely clear about where they are going and how
they’ll get there. Define your dreams. Write them down. Describe your
goals to a friend (or your coach) and ask them to challenge you about
specifics. Get clear.
2. Unusual Commitment. Even when people get clear, too often they
hang back, hesitate, or keep “something in reserve.” High achievers
don’t do that! They go “all in.” They go “all the way.” Winners commit.
I love the story of the ancient Greek General who, after landing his
troops on an enemy shore, made them watch as he burned their ships. For
them, there was no going back, no alternative but to succeed or die.
High achievers bet their very lives on the outcome, with no looking
back. There’s a famous line from World War II, “Damn the torpedoes, full
speed ahead!” Winners are smart and sometimes even cautious about
choosing a well-designed strategy, but once they have a plan, they go
full speed ahead.
3. Unusual Courage. Let’s face it, life is a risky business.
Things happen. We may be embarrassed. We may lose. We may end up looking
foolish, or worse. And the more we stretch for success, the more we
risk, so success requires courage. There will always be doubters and
critics. There will always be competitors, and occasionally people will
disappoint us. Accidents happen, and sometimes we miscalculate or fall
short.
Courage in the face of life’s uncertainties is a requirement for unusual
success. The ability to face the unknown, to act despite our fears, is
the mark of a high achiever. There is no alternative.
If you desire a higher level of success, clarify exactly what you want,
commit to achieving it, and act with courage.

4. Quotes of the Week
"If you want to get somewhere you have to know where you want to go and
how to get there. Then never, never, never give up."
-- Norman Vincent Peale
“One can never consent to creep when one feels the impulse to soar.”
-- Helen Keller
“People are not lazy. They simply have impotent goals, that is goals
that do not inspire them.”
-- Anthony Robbins
"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far
one can go."
-- T. S. Eliot

5. Strictly Business: You Need A Plan
This week I had a remarkable conversation with a woman who has built,
and nearly lost, a great business. She launched it in 1996 with little
more than a dream, tons of energy and a few dollars in her "hobby"
account, and quickly built it to almost 17 million dollars a year in
sales. Unfortunately, this year her sales will be about half of what
they were last year.
This terrible loss has nothing to do with the internet, politics or the
economy. It has everything to do with the fact that she never made the
shift from doing it all herself to being the leader and manager of a
thriving business organization.
Without a plan and an organizational chart, she continues to be the
driving force behind every sale, every decision, and every innovation.
She works incredible hours, sometimes even packing and shipping orders
herself on the weekends! Sometimes she micro-manages; other times she
pulls back so dramatically that instead of delegating, she abdicates. No
wonder her employees are frustrated and her business is falling apart!
EVERY business needs an organizational chart! EVERY business, even a
child's lemonade stand, needs to know who squeezed the lemons, who
handles sales, and who does the accounting. Sometimes, in a
micro-business, it may all be done by the same person, but each ROLE is
distinct, separate, and specialized, and this should be recognized and
documented.
EVERY business must know who their best customers are. EVERY business
must have a marketing plan, a budget, and an R&D team. EVERY business
needs a business plan that is current and reviewed often.

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!
#1 Use a MasterMind Alliance to Achieve Your Goals
Get the Support, Advice & Encouragement You Need
We All Need a Little Help from Our Friends
http://TheNewMasterMind.com
Every winning athlete, and successful business person has a team of
experts behind them. How would you like a team of hand-picked advisors
committed to your personal success? What could you do with expert
advice, wise counsel, and a network of successful people at your
finger-tips?
Back in 1935, Napoleon Hill wrote that a “MasterMind” group was the one
essential behind every successful person he interviewed! And yet very
few people create a Mastermind team to help them achieve their most
important goals in life! Now you can! Most people “don’t know how” or
they fear they “wouldn’t know who to ask.” Now, I’ve written the manual!
I’ve create a “recipe” so you can create your own MasterMind whenever
you wish! I’ve included suggestions for where, when and how often to
meet. I’ve even included simple scripts to get you started. Check it
out!
If success is important to you, you MUST have a MasterMind group to help
you “get there.” Click for more info.

#2 Think Right Now!
The Best Tools for Personal Growth I've Found!
http://philiphumbert.com/go/TRN.htm
Many of you have purchased these audio programs to increase sales, lose
weight, set and achieve goals or improve diet, health and fitness and
you know how good they are! My clients turned me on to these CD's
several months ago and I'm incredibly impressed. I strongly urge you to
jump on this! Top achievers in every field listen to audio programs.
They imagine themselves winning, getting new records and living the life
they truly WANT, and they do it by visualizing their victories in
advance with the help of Mike's programs. These are fantastic, both for
yourself and as gifts. Grab these!

#3 Got a Website?
Earn Passive Income!
http://philiphumbert.com/go/1A.htm
Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping carts,
autoresponders and systems that were supposed to help me serve my
subscribers and make money from my website. None of them worked, or more
accurately they worked, but they were complex, confusing and didn't work
very well. Then I discovered Don Schnure and the amazing programs he's
put together. They work! They are powerful, EASY to use, and they let me
automate my newsletter, my affiliate programs and my shopping cart, with
no hassle! I love this! And, you can use it for 30 days to check it out.
Highly recommended!

7. Humor: Best Email Replies
My friend and frequent source of humor, Dolly, sent these to me. While
they’re a bit cynical, they do beat some of the automated replies I
receive every day. I hope you enjoy them, and if you have the nerve, why
not try one of them on your system?
1. I am currently out at a job interview and will reply to you if I fail
to get the position. Be prepared for my mood.
2. You are receiving this automatic notification because I am out of the
office. If I was in, chances are you wouldn't have received anything at
all.
3. Sorry to have missed you, but I am at the doctor's having my brain
and heart removed so I can be promoted to our management team.
4. I will be unable to delete all the unread, worthless emails you send
me until I return from vacation. Please be patient and your mail will be
deleted in the order it was received.
5. Thank you for your email. Your credit card has been charged $5.99 for
the first 10 words and $1.99 for each additional word in your message.
6. The e-mail server is unable to verify your server connection and is
unable to deliver this message. Please restart your computer and try
sending again. (The beauty of this is that when you return, you can see
how many in-duh-viduals did this over and over.)
7. Thank you for your message, which has been added to a queuing system.
You are currently in 352nd place, and can expect to receive a reply in
approximately 19 weeks.
8. Hi, I'm thinking about what you've just sent me. Please wait by your
PC for my response.
9. I've run away to join a different circus.
10. I will be out of the office for the next 2 weeks for medical
reasons. When I return, please refer to me as 'Loretta' instead
of 'Bob'
