1. The One-Minute TIP
Too often, we try to make big, dramatic changes, only to run into
unexpected resistance. Then, too often, we get discouraged and quit.
Don’t do that to yourself! Instead, take “baby steps” that are almost
guaranteed to be successful. You ARE in charge of your thinking! You ARE
in charge of your daily habits and activities. To create the life of
your dreams, make sure you’re healthy, control your environment, and
take daily actions in the direction you want to go. It’s the path to
ultimate success.

2. Welcome Notes
I learned an important lesson about the “little details” this week. My
body doesn’t handle uric acid very well, so I take pills to prevent
gout. Last weekend, I forgot to count my pills and ran out while on a
brief trip. By Monday, my feet were swollen, I was in lots of pain and
could hardly walk.
Fortunately, my body responds wonderfully to the pills my doctor
prescribes and within a couple days all was well again. The moral: Pay
attention to the little stuff!
We tend to rush through life, always in a hurry to be someplace else,
and I think we not only forget to count the little pills, but sometimes
we forget to be grateful, to hug loved ones, even to catch our breath.
Life’s always trying to teach us lessons, and this week, I learned to
count all over again!
Finally, I want to remind you about another no-charge letter I produce.
I love reading and I always write a brief review of the books I read.
About once a month (on average) I send my notes to everyone who’s signed
up for my “Best Books” newsletter. Recently, I sent reviews of a
personal development book by Brian Tracy, a new biography of President
Eisenhower, and reviews of a couple great novels. If you would like a
copy, I want to send it to you. Sign up at:

3: How to Take Control of Your Life
Every week, I get calls from people who feel trapped in jobs or
relationships that no longer serve them, or are simply amazed that they
haven’t created the life they intended. Most of the inquiries come from
talented, educated and resourceful people—the kind of people who are
convinced they “should” be doing more with their lives but can’t seem to
find a way.
My answer to them typically has three parts:
1. Make sure you are healthy! Being trapped by depression or any
physical problem that limits your energy or distorts your thinking is a
huge problem! Check your diet, sleep patterns, exercise and general
health regularly. See your doctor and ask friends and family if you seem
optimistic, energetic and “like yourself.” Be sure they are frank with
you!
2. Get around the Good Stuff! As a coach, I am amazed how much
stinkin’ thinkin we allow in our lives! We are inundated with bad news,
warnings and controversy. If you really want to change your life, be
willing to change the channel! Read the good books. Learn the skills.
Listen to audio programs. Invest in seminars and workshops—it’s where
winners hang out and you can join them!
Here’s a simple reality check: Add up what you’ve spent this year on
books, audio programs, personal development and coaching, and compare
the total to what you spent on your vacation. If you like the result,
great! If not, make some changes!
3. Take control every day. Here’s a simple mantra or affirmation
that has worked miracles for hundreds of my clients:
For today, I am in charge of my thoughts.
For today, I’m in charge of my attitude.
For today, I am in charge of my actions,
and with these tools, I create the life I
truly want.
I love the insight from AA that we always live one day at a time. My
sense is that “life is a do it yourself” project!
But as the Beatles observed many years ago, it's also true that, “we get
by with a little help from our friends.” Be sure you have a coach, a
MasterMind team, cheerleaders and friends to encourage you. The poet
said, “No man (or woman) is an island.” Take charge of your life, and
work with a coach and a team who will help you make your dreams come
true!

5. Strictly Business: The Boss's Most Important Job
As the owner or leader in your business, you wear many hats. You are
probably the chief innovator, and certainly you are a role model for
your team. They watch you, and they follow your lead. You are directly
involved in sales, and you are responsible for finances and a multitude
of other critical items. So, what's your MOST important job?
That's easy. To get your employees to come back tomorrow morning.
I recently saw a case-study of SAS, the software development company,
and it was remarkable. On average, turn-over at similar companies runs
about 20% per year. At SAS, it's less than 5% per year! Think of the
thousands of hours that saves in recruiting, training and management
time, not to mention the savings in costs! What's their secret?
The boss understands that for all his land and equipment and proprietary
systems, his most essential assets "walk out of the building every
night, and it's my job to see that they walk back in tomorrow morning."
Even in this tight economy, there are jobs to be had. Your best and most
essential people probably get job offers thrown at them every month!
People can walk out the door, start their own company and compete with
you over night. What people want, and have always longed for, is
respect, fulfillment, satisfaction and recognition. Research says that,
in general, you cannot pay people enough to stay on a job if they don't
like the work, the environment, or their co-workers, and those things
are YOUR job!
As the "boss" (even if you are your only employee!), your key task is to
see that your people are well served, well maintained, well trained and
well respected. Without that, everything else is just a pause until they
move on.

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!
#1 Use a MasterMind Alliance to Achieve Your Goals
Get the Support, Advice & Encouragement You Need
We All Need a Little Help from Our Friends
http://TheNewMasterMind.com
Every winning athlete, and successful business person has a team of
experts behind them. How would you like a team of hand-picked advisors
committed to your personal success? What could you do with expert
advice, wise counsel, and a network of successful people at your
finger-tips?
Back in 1935, Napoleon Hill wrote that a “MasterMind” group was the one
essential behind every successful person he interviewed! And yet very
few people create a Mastermind team to help them achieve their most
important goals in life! Now you can! Most people “don’t know how” or
they fear they “wouldn’t know who to ask.” Now, I’ve written the manual!
I’ve create a “recipe” so you can create your own MasterMind whenever
you wish! I’ve included suggestions for where, when and how often to
meet. I’ve even included simple scripts to get you started. Check it
out!
If success is important to you, you MUST have a MasterMind group to help
you “get there.” Click for more info.

#2 Think Right Now!
The Best Tools for CHANGE I've Found!
http://philiphumbert.com/go/TRN.htm
Many of you have purchased these audio programs to increase sales, lose
weight, set and achieve goals or improve diet, health and fitness and
you know how good they are! My clients turned me on to these CD's
several months ago and I'm incredibly impressed. I strongly urge you to
jump on this! Top achievers in every field listen to audio programs.
They imagine themselves winning, getting new records and living the life
they truly WANT, and they do it by visualizing their victories in
advance with the help of Mike's programs. These are fantastic, both for
yourself and as gifts. Grab these!

#3 Got a Website?
Earn Passive Income!
http://philiphumbert.com/go/1A.htm
Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping carts,
autoresponders and systems that were supposed to help me serve my
subscribers and make money from my website. None of them worked, or more
accurately they worked, but they were complex, confusing and didn't work
very well. Then I discovered Don Schnure and the amazing programs he's
put together. They work! They are powerful, EASY to use, and they let me
automate my newsletter, my affiliate programs and my shopping cart, with
no hassle! I love this! And, you can use it for 30 days to check it out.
Highly recommended!

7. Humor: Science Test Papers
A subscriber sent this list of supposed answers from student science
papers. I’ve lost the name of the person who sent the list to me, but it
certainly made me laugh! I doubt these are real answers from real
students, but whoever came up with them is a true genius! I hope you
enjoy them!
"The body consists of three parts - the branium, the borax, and the
abominable cavity. The branium contains the brain, the borax contains
the heart and lungs, and the abominable cavity contains the bowels, of
which there are five - a, e, i, o, and u."

"Liter: A nest of young puppies."
"Rhubarb: A kind of celery gone bloodshot."
"Vacuum: A large mansion where the pope lives."
