1. The One-Minute TIP
Ending 2007 on a high note is not difficult, but it does require a plan.
Similarly, guaranteeing that 2008 will be your best year ever requires
thoughtful planning and careful preparation. Many people have noted that
“success is no accident.” It is the result of planning, preparation,
hard work and attention to detail. Now is the time to finish this year
strong and start 2008 with a plan, tools and momentum to “Be GREAT in
0-Eight!”

2. Welcome Notes
It’s been a curious week around here. Mary came down with a severe cold
or flu several days ago, and being the generous person she is, she
shared it with me. I’ve been blessed with good health most of my life,
but this has been a “doozy”—anyone know how to spell doozy? Anyway,
we’ve been taking turns with the tissues, drinking lots of juice, and
coughing until our throats are raw and we can’t talk.
Since she got sick first, it’s only right that she’s bouncing back
first, so on a beautiful Thursday she’s out re-stocking the cupboards
and enjoying some fresh air. I’ll be back on my feet soon, but in the
meantime I’m appreciating the joys of good health and missing my long
walks with Cody in the crisp fall air. (The poor dog knows something’s
wrong and follows me around with a concerned look on his face. Very
sad!) I promise to take better care of myself in the future!
In the meantime, I want to remind all my subscribers to get my new ebook
on MasterMind groups. I released it a couple months ago and we’re
getting wonderful emails from groups all over the world who are seeing
the power of this remarkable system. As you prepare for 2008, please
consider forming and using the support and resources of a MasterMind
Alliance! There’s nothing like it—miracles happen in these groups! Check
it out at:

3: Finish Strong, Start Fresh
It’s hard to believe it’s the first of November already! This has been
an exciting year for us, with lots of travel, business opportunities and
family affairs. As the cliché goes, the year has “flown by!” I hope 2007
has been a great year for you, too.
As I get older, I notice that the “great” years don’t just happen. I’m
not a wine connoisseur, but I suspect there are parallels between
creating a great wine and creating a great life. Sure, some things we
can’t control play a role–things like the weather and bugs and
disease—but the things we can control play an even bigger role. In
making wine, I imagine that knowing the soil, selecting the best type of
grape, knowing how to prune, fertilize and exactly when to harvest play
a huge role. While luck plays a part, art and science and attention to
detail are even more important.
So it is with creating a great year, and a great life.
As 2007 draws to a close, I’m convinced there are certain things highly
successful people do to “prepare the ground” for the new year.
First, finish this year strong. That means working hard these
next few weeks. Most of us will take time off for year-end holidays and
celebrations so your key projects and goals for 2007 must be completed
before that happens. Now is the time to wrap up details. Now is the time
to put in extra hours, make a few more calls, send one more proposal.
Don’t wait until the holidays are upon us! Do it now. Finish strong.
Second, finish the year on time. That means having our accounting
and paperwork done, having your expense accounts, filing and planning
done and off your desk before the holidays! Now is the time for year-end
tax planning. Do you need to meet with your accountant? Do you need to
gather any data or remind vendors or colleagues to get reports to you?
Send those reminders now, not in the midst of New Year’s greetings.
Third, guarantee you’ll “Be GREAT in O-Eight!” I am not a fan of
“New Year’s Resolutions” because too many of them are made in a rush,
sometimes in the midst of a hangover! But I am a huge fan of previewing
the year in advance. I am a huge fan of using calendars to plot the
rhythm of your year. I believe in setting goals, developing strategies
and plans, and giving yourself every chance for greatness in the year
ahead.
Good planning takes time. It requires multiple conversations and
hard decisions. Will you spend more on travel or remodel the house next
year? Would you prefer to make more money or have more time as a family?
How much will you invest for personal development verses investing in
your business or for retirement?
These are not easy questions and answering them requires time to ponder,
perhaps jotting notes and ideas on paper. It may require conversations
with your loved ones, or with your financial advisors. Tools like
calendars, calculators and spreadsheets may be required. You may want to
discuss your goals with your personal coach, if you have one.
The point is that ending 2007 on a high note is not difficult, but it
does require a plan. Similarly, guaranteeing that 2008 will be your best
year ever requires thoughtful planning and careful preparation. Many
people have noted that “success is no accident.” It is the result of
planning, preparation, hard work and attention to detail. Now is the
time to finish this year strong and start 2008 with a plan, tools and
momentum to “Be GREAT in 0-Eight!”

4. Quotes of the Week
"God gives talent, work transforms talent into genius."
-- Anna Pavlova
“You never achieve real success unless you like what you are doing.”
-- Dale Carnegie
"It only takes one person to change your life—you."
-- Ruth Casey
"You have within you right now, everything you need to deal with
whatever the world can throw at you."
-- Brian Tracy

5. Strictly Business: Your 2007 Tax-Relief Package
Except for the housing and mortgage markets, the U.S. economy is humming
along nicely, but did you know that you can create your own stimulus
package and do it with the Government’s help? Wouldn’t it be nice to
know that 2008 will be a MUCH more profitable year?
Two or three times each fall I remind readers that any business-related
investments between now and December 31st will reduce your taxable
income, and thus reduce your taxes next April. The net effect is that
Uncle Sam pays for 40-50% of whatever you buy! Imagine going shopping
and knowing that each time you buy an item, your Uncle slashes the price
in half!
But that’s only the beginning!
Smart investments in your business will almost surely make you money
going forward. Think about that!
Would new software enhance your productivity? Would a new website
increase sales? Would new training or a new vehicle or a new desk make
you more productive? Investing in these things will do far more to
increase your bottom line than any “stimulus package” Congress is ever
likely to pass.
And the beauty is that you can customize it to precisely fit your
personal needs and desires. I’m typing this on a new computer, using a
new low-emission monitor, while sitting in a new lumbar-support chair
that has definitely increased both the amount of time I work, and my
productivity. Great investments!
As always, please check with your tax professional for the details. The
specifics are different in each individual case and of course they vary
in different countries, but in general you can create and take delivery
of your own custom-designed economic stimulus package for 2008, and the
Government will even help pay for it. No business or professional should
miss this once-a-year opportunity!

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!
#1 Use a MasterMind Alliance to Achieve Your Goals
Get the Support, Advice & Encouragement You Need
We All Need a Little Help from Our Friends
http://TheNewMasterMind.com
Every winning athlete, and successful business person has a team of
experts behind them. How would you like a team of hand-picked advisors
committed to your personal success? What could you do with expert
advice, wise counsel, and a network of successful people at your
finger-tips?
Back in 1935, Napoleon Hill wrote that a “MasterMind” group was the one
essential behind every successful person he interviewed! And yet very
few people create a Mastermind team to help them achieve their most
important goals in life! Now you can! Most people “don’t know how” or
they fear they “wouldn’t know who to ask.” Now, I’ve written the manual!
I’ve create a “recipe” so you can create your own MasterMind whenever
you wish! I’ve included suggestions for where, when and how often to
meet. I’ve even included simple scripts to get you started. Check it
out!
If success is important to you, you MUST have a MasterMind group to help
you “get there.” Click for more info.

#2 Think Right Now!
The Best Tools for CHANGE I've Found!
http://philiphumbert.com/go/TRN.htm
Many of you have purchased these audio programs to increase sales, lose
weight, set and achieve goals or improve diet, health and fitness and
you know how good they are! My clients turned me on to these CD's
several months ago and I'm incredibly impressed. I strongly urge you to
jump on this! Top achievers in every field listen to audio programs.
They imagine themselves winning, getting new records and living the life
they truly WANT, and they do it by visualizing their victories in
advance with the help of Mike's programs. These are fantastic, both for
yourself and as gifts. Grab these!

#3 Got a Website?
Earn Passive Income!
http://philiphumbert.com/go/1A.htm
Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping carts,
autoresponders and systems that were supposed to help me serve my
subscribers and make money from my website. None of them worked, or more
accurately they worked, but they were complex, confusing and didn't work
very well. Then I discovered Don Schnure and the amazing programs he's
put together. They work! They are powerful, EASY to use, and they let me
automate my newsletter, my affiliate programs and my shopping cart, with
no hassle! I love this! And, you can use it for 30 days to check it out.
Highly recommended!

7. Humor: Sports Commentators
I would not want to be a sports commentator, describing the action while
handling the technology and trying to think, all at the same time. But
there are people who actually like juggling, and so here are some quotes
from, “The World Of Soccer Broadcasting.” I apologize that I don’t know
who sent these to me, so can’t acknowledge them. I found this in my
file, it a made me smile, and I hope you enjoy them as well. Cheers!
1. Well, it's Liverpool two, Ipswich nil, and if the score stays this
way, I've got to fancy Liverpool for the win.
2. He had an eternity to play that ball, but took too long.
3. And so they have not been able to improve on their 100% record.
4. With the last kick of the game, he scored with a header.
5. Well, it's a fabulous kaleidoscope of color: almost all the
Brazilians are wearing yellow shirts.
6. If that had gone in, it would definitely have been a goal.
7. Their manager, Howard Wilkinson, isn't here today, which strongly
suggests that he may be elsewhere.
8. I am a firm believer that if one team scores a goal, the other needs
to score two to win.
9. If a team scores early on, it often takes an early lead.
10. You cannot possibly have counted the number of passes made, but
there were eight.
