1. The One-Minute TIP

This holiday season, dream bigger. Ask the fundamental questions about who you are, what you want, and how you want to live. Where are you going? What's the point? This year, think bigger, aim higher, insist on going further. You may not get "there" in one year, perhaps not in a lifetime, but make sure you're headed in the right direction. Make sure you're on a path that is worthy of you.

2. Welcome Notes

It's hard to believe we're coming to the end of another year. I've got some helpful notes about year-end planning below, but the most important thing is to stay in touch with loved ones during the holidays. Whether you celebrate Hanukkah or Kwanza or Ramadan or Solstice or Christmas (or all of them!), use the festivities to focus on the people you love.

Take time to call loved ones, and to be kind. It's a time of renewal, and a time of giving. Celebrate your faith and give generously to those in need. In a world of wealth and abundance, it’s insane that so many don’t have enough to eat, a safe place to sleep or access to basic services. The needs are enormous. Give through the organization of your choice, but please give generously. You'll be glad you did.

Finally, one of the best things this week has been the response to the MasterMind program I personally use.

Having a MasterMind Team of partners who support you, share ideas, offer encouragement, resources and tools is one of the most powerful “secrets” the world has ever found! I’ve belonged to MasterMind groups for over 25 years and there’s simply nothing like it. I love the process my friend, Michael Angier, has put together and encourage you to check it out! (I hope to get to know you on the calls) The info is at: http://philiphumbert.com/go/diamond.htm

3: How to Think Bigger, Aim Higher, Go Further in 2008

This is the time when successful people define their goals for the year ahead. Millions of people will review their numbers for 2007, evaluate their results and make adjustments for 2008. That's the way organizations, large corporations and even most individuals do it.

And there's nothing wrong with it. Except it always seems so small, so safe, so “normal.” For many of us, "raising the bar" is not what we truly want. It's not enough.

Too many of us set our goals by merely adding 10% to what we've done before. The major exception is our weight, where we promise that we'll finally lose the ten pounds we've been trying to lose all year. Now, there's nothing wrong with that. Institutions do that all the time. But who wants to live like an institution?

This is your LIFE we're talking about! If a few adjustments are all you really need, go for it! If a minor tweak will do, then don’t make a fuss. Adjust your budget, set your goal, and be done with it.

But I challenge you to think bigger and aim higher.

As you look to 2008 and beyond, what do you really WANT for your life? What's the REAL story? What's your DREAM? What are you doing with your life? That's the question I hope you'll consider as you plan the year ahead.

In those areas where a small step is all you need, that's fine. Buy a new car, lose the weight, make a little more and spend a bit less. These are the small adjustments that make life easier and I support them.

But what’s the really BIG picture? What would you love to do if only you knew how, had the courage, the time, the resources or whatever you think you need? In the secret places of your heart, in those quiet moments, what’s the REAL story? I invite you to think carefully and clearly about that. And be daring!

Unfortunately, the small adjustments that are so logical can be the very things that keep us trapped. As we hit our goals and increase our income, these small victories become the "golden handcuffs" that trap us in our routine. They keep us "playing small" so that while we're winning the battles, we end up frustrated or confused because our lives don't have the joy we deserve.

Could a coach help you go further and achieve more?
Many people find a personal coach makes all the
difference and if you would like 2008 to be HUGE,
     consider personal coaching. Contact me:

4. Quotes of the Week

"Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal."

"Happiness is that state of consciousness which proceeds from the achievement of one's values."
                                            -- Ayn Rand

"Everything's in the mind. That's where it all starts. Knowing what you want is the first step toward getting it."
                                            -- Mae West

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”

5. Strictly Business:  Your Partner Wants to Buy You Stuff

Every year about this time I remind business owners and CFO's (financial officers) to review their business deductions for the year. If you use the calendar year as your fiscal or tax year, December 31st is a very important date.

Here are two important facts:

1. Depending on where you live and your tax rate, about 40% of everything you make will go to the Government, and the final accounting for most businesses comes on December 31st. The more you make, the more your "partner" will take in taxes.

2. Conversely, any legitimate business expenses you incur in the next three weeks come right off that tax bill. In the U.S., that means "Uncle Sam" is willing to pay for about 40% of whatever you buy for business purposes! Take advantage of that!

If you need new office equipment, a new computer, or routine office supplies, take action! For the next three weeks, they are "40% off!" If you can pre-pay some regular business expenses (insurance, rent, supplies or fees) by the end of the month, they come directly off your "bottom line" which means lower taxes in April.

Now, obviously, the expenses must be for legitimate business purposes. No cheating! And obviously you should check with your accountant or tax advisor for specific advice in your particular situation. But keep in mind that a few months from now you will pay taxes on every dollar of profit you make in 2007 and if you can legally reduce that amount by stocking up now, that's to your advantage. Think about it!

Want more info? I've got an article you might find helpful, along with dozens of others on my website. This particular article on year-end tax strategies is at:

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!

#1 Here is the MasterMind Program I Use!
Get the Support, Resources and Tools You Need
Achieve more – BE GREAT in ’08!
     http://philiphumbert.com/go/diamond.htm

TIPS subscribers know the value of a small group of dedicated partners who will support you, encourage you, hold you accountable, and most importantly, help you ACHIEVE MORE! MasterMind teams succeed!

I’ve belonged to MasterMind teams for over twenty-five years and they have helped me achieve more than I could have dreamed! MasterMind teams have an energy and an “intelligence” all their own. If you are serious about having and doing more, about achieving your goals and creating the life you want, JOIN A MASTERMIND! I can’t be any clearer!

I’ve written a book about this (see below), and you can form your own team, but why not join a program that has dozens of tools, resources, audio recordings and partners already in place? Why “re-invent the wheel?” I’ve known and worked with Michael Angier for ten years. I belong to his “Diamond Club” because it works, and because it’s fun! I hope you’ll join me! At least, check it out at: http://philiphumbert.com/go/diamond.htm

#2 Use a MasterMind Alliance to Achieve Your Goals
Get the Support, Advice & Encouragement You Need
We All Need a Little Help from Our Friends
     http://TheNewMasterMind.com

Every winning athlete, and successful business person has a team of experts behind them. How would you like a team of hand-picked advisors committed to your personal success? What could you do with expert advice, wise counsel, and a network of successful people at your finger-tips?

Back in 1935, Napoleon Hill wrote that a “MasterMind” group was the one essential behind every successful person he interviewed! And yet very few people create a Mastermind team to help them achieve their most important goals in life! Now you can! Most people “don’t know how” or they fear they “wouldn’t know who to ask.” Now, I’ve written the manual! I’ve create a “recipe” so you can create your own MasterMind whenever you wish! I’ve included suggestions for where, when and how often to meet. I’ve even included simple scripts to get you started. Check it out!

If success is important to you, you MUST have a MasterMind group to help you “get there.” Click for more info. http://TheNewMasterMind.com

     #3 Got a Website?
     Earn Passive Income!
     http://philiphumbert.com/go/1A.htm

Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping carts, autoresponders and systems that were supposed to help me serve my subscribers and make money from my website. None of them worked, or more accurately they worked, but they were complex, confusing and didn't work very well. Then I discovered Don Schnure and the amazing programs he's put together. They work! They are powerful, EASY to use, and they let me automate my newsletter, my affiliate programs and my shopping cart, with no hassle! I love this! And, you can use it for 30 days to check it out. Highly recommended!

7. Humor:  How To Live A Happy Life

I love lists of powerful insights. Lots of people have written about the things they’ve learned, and this is a wonderful list. My friend, Bill Barrows forwarded it from our mutual friend, Dolly Howard. My thanks to both of you, and I hope you find these as thought-provoking and helpful as I do. Enjoy!

How to live a happy and rewarding life:

Take time to smell the roses.
Take a nap on Sunday afternoon.
Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
Never deprive someone of hope… it might be all they have.
Be thankful for every meal.
Don't be afraid to say I'm sorry.
Don't take your health for granted.
Improve your performance by improving your attitude.
Listen to your children.
Leave everything a little better than you found it.
Keep it simple.
Keep good company.
Keep your promise.
Be kinder than necessary.
Take good care of those you love.
Make it a habit to do nice things.
Make it a habit to do nice things for people who will never find out.
Wear outrageous underwear.
Vote.
Judge your success by the peace, health and love in your life.
Be a good loser.
Be a good winner.
Be romantic.
Enjoy real maple syrup.
Never refuse homemade brownies.
Never give anyone a fruitcake.
Remember other people's birthdays.
Sing in the shower.
Don't nag.
Don't gossip.
Don't tailgate.
Don't expect money to bring you happiness.
Be forgiving of yourself and others.
Never give up on anyone. Miracles happen every day.
Say thank you a lot.
Say please a lot.
Take your dog to obedience school. You'll both learn a lot.
Slow dance.
Don't rain on other people's parades.
Don't postpone joy.
Don’t blame others. Take responsibility for every area of your life.
Take care of your reputation. It's your most valuable asset.
Count your blessings.
Whistle.
Marry only for love.
Do more than is expected.
Be there when others need you.
Never sell yourself short.
Never be ashamed of your patriotism.
Never be ashamed of honest tears.
