1. The One-Minute TIP
In the coming twelve months the sun will move, the earth will tilt, the
seasons will change. You cannot control these things. But you can
control what time you get up in the morning. You can choose your
attitude, your friends, your reading material, your diet, your focus and
your goals. You can, to a remarkable degree, create the life you want.
Choose well. Use your power.

2. Welcome Notes
We’ve made our travel plans to be with Mary’s family for Christmas, and
I’m finishing up some end-of-year business deals. It’s amazing how fast
2007 has gone by! I hope you and your loved ones are also “gearing up”
for a magnificent end of the year and beginning of 2008. Whatever would
make your holiday season “absolutely perfect!”—plan it now. Buy the
tickets, make the calls, schedule the time.
And, of course, schedule lots of “margin” or personal time around the
edges. Almost no one longs for more hurry or more stress during this
time of year, and yet how many of “arrange” for that to happen? Schedule
time for a massage, for sleeping in, for having fun. Skip at least one
party, decline at least one invitation, refuse at least one errand and
spend the time smiling. You’ll be glad you did!
Finally, I have a wonderful suggestion to simplify your holiday
shopping. My friend, Dr Michael Norwood, wrote an amazing book called
The 9 Insights of the Wealthy Soul, based on ideas his father shared
with him during his final, terminal, illness. Michael has created a
wonderful little movie and I hope you’ll check it out. The movie is
powerfully inspirational and I hope you’ll order the book (or several
copies for family and loved ones). It’s free and a great example of the
spirit of the Season! Enjoy it today at:

3: Focus on What You Can Control
As I write this, the sun is rising over the hills to the south-east,
hidden behind a pillar on the corner of my home. When I sit at this
table during the summer, the sun rises off my left shoulder, but now it
has moved dramatically to the south. It shifts slowly, and from one day
to the next I see no apparent difference, but over time, the earth
changes from summer to winter.
Without noticing it, and with no effort on my part, in six months my
relationship with the entire solar system has changed! The light in my
office has changed, and so I shift positions, re-arrange my computer
screen, move the furniture, and even work at a different time of the
day, all because of changes over which I have no control, and take no
notice.
Success and failure are often like that.
We cannot control many of the things and events in our lives, including
the sun and the tilt of the earth. What I DO control is whether or not I
put curtains on the windows, arrange my furniture to take advantage of
the light, and use the seasons to add variety and perspective to my
office. Actually, I depend on the changing angle of the sun to "make" me
move the furniture and dust behind my desk every few months. I use these
predictable changes to enrich my office and make me look at the world
differently.
In life, there are many things over which we have no control.
Fortunately however, there are many things we can influence, and a few
wonderful things we can arrange as we see fit.
Highly successful people understand this and spend their time and energy
where they can make a difference.
There is a wonderful quote that is attributed to both Nelson Mandela and
to Marianne Williamson that points out that our fear is not that we are
powerless, but that in fact we are powerful beyond measure. We can
influence more than we think. Given enough time, courage and
determination, we can modify, impact, transform and re-invent almost
everything in our lives. We are not in complete control; that is no
excuse to deny the power we have!
The new year will last twelve months. You will have 52 weeks in which to
choose your priorities. You will have 365 days to decide where to focus
your time, your attention and your efforts. You will have thousands of
opportunities to choose, to try, and to learn. Twelve months is a huge
amount of time! In twelve months you can achieve miracles.

4. Quotes of the Week
“If you are never scared, embarrassed, or hurt, it means you never take
chances.”
-- Julia Soul
"Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole
staircase,
just take the first step."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
"Every great advance in science has issued from a new audacity of
imagination."
-- John Dewey
"Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that
you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can
accomplish! And what your potential is!”
-- Anne Frank

5. Strictly Business: The Size of Your Economic Future
Almost every day, I read that the U.S. economy is on the verge of a
slow-down, or that things are up, or things are going down. The reality
is that none of us depends upon any national average! Your economic
future, and your bottom line, are primarily up to you!
Many TIP's subscribers are employees, and some of you think your salary
is determined by your boss, or by union scale, or by some other measure.
I appreciate that perspective.
Over time, however, your personal wealth is more a function of savings
and investment than any salary you might earn. Over time, your financial
future is determined by your contribution, your skills, your energy,
your ability to see and grasp opportunity, and the actions you take.
Your company pay scale may play a role, but over the long-haul, you
decide where you work, what you do, and how much value you contribute.
Jim Rohn is fond of reminding his audiences to "never make the mistake
of thinking you work for anyone but yourself." You are the CEO of your
own personal services company, and your economic future is in your
hands.
A client recently told me this story: He has worked for his local County
government for several years, but felt stuck and unhappy. He decided to
invest in real estate part-time, and since he could only do it
part-time, decided he would have to be very efficient. He hired a coach,
focused his time, and now earns more from his investments than from his
full-time job.
Your economic realities will be a reflection of your skills, your
efforts, your choices, and your value in the market-place. As you plan
for the new year, take time to reflect on your income for this year. If
you are satisfied that it adequately reflects your abilities, good for
you! If not, give thought and reflect carefully on any changes you would
like to make in the coming year.

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!
#1 The 9 Insights Movie
(It’s Free, It’s Absolutely Stunning & It’s Powerful!)
http://philiphumbert.com/go/norwood.htm
I just saw an extraordinary web presentation that was emailed to me.
It's called The 9 Insights movie. I can't think of anything better to
share with you this holiday season than this moving story that will
empower you to overcome obstacles and discover the secrets of filling
your life with love, wealth and transformation.
And please forward this email on to all your friends and loved ones.
Sharing this beautiful presentation is a wonderful way to celebrate the
holiday season by forwarding this message of hope and transformation
around the world. It’s free and it’s at:

#2 Here is the MasterMind Program I Use!
Get the Support, Resources and Tools You Need
Achieve more – BE GREAT in ’08!
http://philiphumbert.com/go/diamond.htm
TIPS subscribers know the value of a small group of dedicated partners
who will support you, encourage you, hold you accountable, and most
importantly, help you ACHIEVE MORE! MasterMind teams succeed!
I’ve belonged to MasterMind teams for over twenty-five years and they
have helped me achieve more than I could have dreamed! MasterMind teams
have an energy and an “intelligence” all their own. If you are serious
about having and doing more, about achieving your goals and creating the
life you want, JOIN A MASTERMIND! I can’t be any clearer!
I’ve written a book about this (see below), and you can form your own
team, but why not join a program that has dozens of tools, resources,
audio recordings and partners already in place? Why “re-invent the
wheel?” I’ve known and worked with Michael Angier for ten years. I
belong to his “Diamond Club” because it works, and because it’s fun! I
hope you’ll join me! At least, check it out at:

#3 Got a Website?
Earn Passive Income!
http://philiphumbert.com/go/1A.htm
Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping carts,
autoresponders and systems that were supposed to help me serve my
subscribers and make money from my website. None of them worked, or more
accurately they worked, but they were complex, confusing and didn't work
very well. Then I discovered Don Schnure and the amazing programs he's
put together. They work! They are powerful, EASY to use, and they let me
automate my newsletter, my affiliate programs and my shopping cart, with
no hassle! I love this! And, you can use it for 30 days to check it out.
Highly recommended!

7. Humor: A Few More Ponderables
As long-time subscribers know, I love these sorts of weird
brain-twisters. If you’ve got some good ones, I’m always looking to add
to my collection! I hope you enjoy these:
Why isn't phonetic spelled the way it sounds?
Why are there interstate highways in Hawaii?
Why are there flotation devices under plane seats instead of parachutes?
Do you need a silencer if you are going to shoot a mime?
Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?
How does the guy who drives the snowplow get to work in the mornings?
If 7-11 is open 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, why are there locks on
the doors?
If nothing ever sticks to TEFLON, how does TEFLON stick to the pan?
If you tied buttered toast to the back of a cat and dropped it from a
height, what would happen?
If you're in a vehicle going the speed of light, what happens when you
turn on the headlights?
You know how most packages say "Open here". What is the protocol if the
package says, "Open somewhere else"?
Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?
Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?
You know that little indestructible black box that is used on
planes? Why don’t they make the whole plane out of the same substance?
Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, you turn
down the volume on the radio?
