1. The One-Minute TIP

Successful people are pro-active. They take ACTION before
they have to. They act long before the “last minute”
because they are "ahead of the curve." They save and
invest for the future, rather than spending in the
moment. They plan ahead. As you set goals for 2010, are
you also dreaming, planning, scheming and arranging for
2015, 2020, and beyond? I hope so.

============================================
2. Welcome Notes

First things first: Please join me in praying for and
donating to the relief efforts on Haiti. I’ve heard a
couple people say that the stories and pictures of
suffering are more than they can bear. While I understand
that reaction, imagine actually living through this
tragedy! I hope you will give generously and help in
every way you can.

And I have to add the sad but necessary reminder to be
cautious about where you send your money. Please choose
charities or relief organizations you know and trust. It
makes me furious that there are always scammers who try
to take advantage of these situations.

Second, an intriguing, sort of humorous note about
registration for our 15th (and LAST) World Class Life
Conference. Over the years, about 60% of our participants
have been women, but this year may be different! As I
write this, so far every single registration has been
from a man! Go figure! That’s wonderful (it’s nice to see
men jumping on this) but it’s also a bit weird.

This is a wonderful thing and the most powerful
endorsement I can give is that, year after year, about a
third of our registrations are from people coming back
again! How many conferences have you seen that were so
good, you would actually return? One woman who has
attended SIX TIMES! And many others have come 3 or more
times. I urge you to check this out. We have a phenomenal
discount for “early adopters” so jump on this while it
lasts! Sign up at: http://MyWorldClassLife.com

And a reminder that you can still join us for the Git ‘er
Done program! AFTER our first call this week (it was
recorded and you can always listen) several participants
encouraged their friends to sign up and we had a burst of
“late” registrations this week! That’s amazing and I love
it! Get the info, take action and JOIN US at:
http://PhilipHumbert.com/2010

Finally, a reminder to get your Freebie of the Month!
This month it's a wonderfully motivating, practical how-
to-do-it article, "The Four Steps to a World Class Life."
It’s free and available for asking at:

3: This is Your Life -- Do It Right the First Time!

Some of you are old enough to remember a TV game show
called, “This is Your Life.” The host would have various
friends and family members of the contestant hidden
behind a curtain and they would tell stories about why
they loved and appreciated the contestant.

The point is that each of us impacts the world and people
around us far more than we imagine. For better or worse,
we make a huge difference. Just by living our lives, we
build up (or tear down). Our ordinary daily routines make
a difference far beyond what we know. Every day, we make
this world a richer, better, more joyful place…or not.

So far as I can determine, we get one chance at life.
This is not a rehearsal or dry-run. We get one chance to
do our best, to sing our song, to pitch in, to show our
“true colors” and make the world a better place. The
focus of my life and work is to encourage folks to “do it
right the first time.”

One of the reminders I’ve taken from the suffering in
Haiti is to “be prepared.” Thankfully, most of us will
never experience a major earthquake. But, sooner or
later, we all face disappointment and difficulty. For
some, it will be illness or injury. For others, it will
be family problems or business failure. For others, it
will be something else, but we will all face “trouble.”

This week, I read that millions lost their home to
foreclosure in 2009 and more will face that trauma this
year. Unemployment and “underemployment” total about 17%
of the workforce in the U.S. For all these families,
disaster has struck! And most of them did not see it
coming and were unprepared.

Don’t let that happen to you!

Take full responsibility for yourself and the safety and
security of your loved ones.

Last week, I included a note about replacing aging smoke
detectors in your home and replacing the batteries in
them regularly. I hope you did that! It’s important, but
it’s also a symbol or metaphor. Go through your home and
check the locks. Check for danger or “accidents waiting
to happen.” Take the ordinary, common-sense precautions
that can make all the difference.

But then think bigger. Think about your “emergency
savings account.” Is it fully funded? Would it be
adequate in case of illness, major injury or if you lost
your job?

Some families take this much, much further. I’m told
there’s a new group of what used to be called
“survivalists.” I’m told the new term is “preppers” for
people who are determined to be prepared (thus the term
“preppers”) with food, water, extra blankets, first aid
kits, extra medications and so forth. If a disaster
strikes, they want to be ready.

Frankly, Mary and I haven’t gone that far. Perhaps we
should. At a minimum, I urge you to consider your
responsibilities to yourself and your loved ones.

But far beyond these preparations for disaster, my work
always focuses on building the future you truly want.
What are your goals and what are your PLANS for making it
happen? I love the quote that “the best way to predict
the future is to create it!”

What kind of future are you creating for yourself and
your loved ones? Are you creating a future of health,
wealth and happiness? Are you creating a future of
fulfillment, satisfaction, delightful memories and
adventure? Or, are you anticipating a future that
involves going along and hoping for the best?

Successful people are pro-active. They take ACTION before
they have to. They act long before the “last minute”
because they are "ahead of the curve." They are good
“preppers!” They save and invest for the future, rather
than spending in the moment. They plan ahead. As you set
goals for 2010, are you also dreaming, planning, scheming
and arranging for 2015, 2020, and beyond? I hope so.

The reason I love our World Class Life Conference, and
the reason people come back year after year is that our
time-line is not next week or next month or even next
year. This is your LIFE! You want to live “for all it’s
worth!” You want to "give it all you've got" and get it
right the first time. A great life is based on your
values and priorities, your talent, strengths, potential
and imagination. It is not a life lived out of habit or
based on fear!

The objective is to live well, to create and love a “life
of one’s own!” I hope you'll join us.

Action Step #1: Take note of the devastation in Haiti and
help in every way you can. Disaster has struck and those
people need our help. Pitch in.

Action Step #2: Learn the lesson and in whatever way
makes sense for you, be a “prepper.” From writing down
emergency phone numbers and having a family plan, to more
elaborate steps, “be prepared.”

Action Step #3: Think long-term. Design and create your
future in advance! Set goals, dream dreams, develop your
talents, learn new skills so no matter what happens you
can meet the future with confidence and grace.

Action Step #4: Join us for the World Class Life
Conference, May 20-22nd. Design the life you truly want
and develop strategies, plans and action steps to make it
happen! Sign up at: http://MyWorldClassLife.com

4. Quotes of the Week

"Hide not your talents. They for use were made. What's a
sundial in the shade?"
-- Ben Franklin

"In each of us are places where we have never gone. Only
by pressing the limits do you ever find them."
-- Dr. Joyce Brothers

“It is our duty as men and women to proceed as though the
limits of our abilities do not exist.”
-- Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

“The way we live our days, is the way we live our lives.”
-- Annie Dillard

5. Strictly Business: Choose to Skip this Recession

I hear that “times are tough.” People say “the banks
aren’t loaning money” and “unemployment is at record
highs.” People are suffering and things are bad. And
perhaps most insidious of all, I hear, “the Government
ought to do something.”

Well, yes the statistics and the economy are bad. You can
get all the data and “proof” of that you want. If you
look for bad news, it’s easy to find.

But so is good news.

One piece of good news is that in hard times, opportunity
abounds. It always has! When lots of people have lots of
needs, the opportunity to meet those needs is greater
than ever. When things are darkest, the person or
business that holds a lantern quickly becomes the leader.
Remember the old saying that “In the land of the blind,
the one-eyed man is king”? It’s true!

If your business can provide a better product or quicker
service or a lower price, this is your chance to dominate
your market! Fortunes have been made in every recession
and even during the Great Depression of the 1930’s,
people got rich! Find a way.

Second, more people are starting businesses than ever
before. Many people have grown tired of “looking for a
job” and decided to create their own. Some are solo-
preneurs and do what they have always done, but now work
for themselves instead of a corporation. Others launch a
small business and open the firm they’ve always wanted.
And some work with partners and investors to launch
something much, much bigger!

Choose not to “go along” with this recession or the
ordinary wisdom of the masses. Do something remarkable!
Opportunities abound.

If you would like help or coaching to launch your dream
and use this recession to make your future much, much
brighter, contact me! Coach@philiphumbert.com

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!

#1 My World Class Life Conference
May 20-22, 2010
Design, Create & Live
The Life You’ve Always Wanted!
http://MyWorldClassLife.com

About 150 years ago, Henry Thoreau observed that “most
people live lives of quiet desperation.” I fear that is
more true today than ever before. From fears of recession
to anxiety about our kids’ education, we wonder what the
future holds and whether we will have the life we truly
want.

The irony, of course, is that these are also the best of
times and nothing can stop you from creating the life you
truly wan—and you deserve it! You deserve happiness! You
deserve a life that satisfies and fulfills you, that
brings joy and amazement every day! We are the richest,
luckiest people in all of history. And yet most of us
have never been taught HOW to create the life we truly
want. And most of us never have the time, the place, or
the encouragement to design, create and live our lives to
their fullest.

This is that place! Every year a group of us come
together for three days to map out plans to make things
better for themselves. Imagine that! Three days of
encouragement, tools, time and space and peace and quiet
to create the life you truly want. Imagine! This is
possible! I hope you’ll join us. A GREAT life doesn’t
happen by chance or luck. And “hope” is not a strategy. A
GREAT life is designed and built on purpose!

Take time for yourself. Look at the next 20 years and
decide, in advance, exactly what you truly want to do
with your one life. Sign up today while we have several
“early adopter” discounts in place. (Act before they
disappear!) http://MyWorldClassLife.com

#4 Make Your Website EARN MORE!
Earn Passive Income!
http://philiphumbert.com/go/1A.htm

Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping
carts, autoresponders and systems that were supposed to
help me serve my subscribers and make money from my
website. None of them worked, or more accurately they
worked, but they were complex, confusing and didn't work
very well. Then I discovered Don Schnu re and the amazing
programs he's put together. They work! They are powerful,
EASY to use, and they let me automate my newsletter, my
affiliate programs and my shopping cart, with no hassle!
I love this! And, use it for 30 days to check it out.
Highly recommended! http://philiphumbert.com/go/1A.htm

7. Humor: Random Thoughts

I may have been born with a genetic defect but I truly
love weird humor, especially word-play. My ability with
puns and even remembering jokes is poor, and maybe I just
admire folks who come up with these. My friend (and
former MasterMind partner and World Class Life alumni),
Duane Margreiter, sent these and I loved them. I hope
they give you a chuckle!

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to
immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an
argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to
nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on
#5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my
neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they
told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind
of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes
a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going
to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after
Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my
collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I go to exit out
of Word and it asks if I want to save changes to my ten-
page research paper that I swear I did not make any
changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will
never wash this -- ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring
(Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call
back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd
you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run
away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good
and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day.
What a waste.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just
so I know not to answer when they call.

18. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day
"Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the
hell do I respond to that?

19. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

20. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I bet on any given
Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than
Kay's.
